This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App and related services.

By using the App, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information to create itineraries, provide recommendations, and offer automated planning assistance. This includes:

A. Information You Provide to Us

• Account Data: Name, email address, and profile settings.
• Travel Preferences: Inputs regarding your travel style, themes, budget, and companion details.
• Expense Data: Financial data you manually input to track costs.
• Note: We do not store your credit card information for these manual entries.
• User Inputs: Text, preferences, and queries you input when interacting with our planning tools and AI features.

B. Information Processed via Integrations

• Social Media Content: If you share links from social media platforms, we process the public metadata of that content to generate location and activity recommendations.
• Photo Library Metadata: With your explicit permission, we access metadata from your photo library (specifically EXIF location and time data) to identify past travel locations. We do not upload your actual photos unless you explicitly choose to post them to a shared view.
• Calendar & Email: If you enable syncing permissions, we access your calendar or parse forwarded emails to automatically import flight and hotel details into your itinerary.

C. Automatically Collected Data

• Location Data: We collect real-time geolocation to power map views, provide timely alerts, and suggest nearby experiences.
• Usage Data: Information regarding how you interact with suggestions, which recommendations you accept, and how you navigate the App.

3. Payment Information

We do not collect or store your credit card numbers.

• Subscriptions: All subscription payments are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes your payment and provides us with a receipt token to confirm your subscription status. We do not have access to your billing details.
• Affiliate Transactions: If you book travel services or purchase insurance through our recommendations, the transaction occurs directly on the third-party provider's site.

4. How We Use Artificial Intelligence (AI)

To provide automated planning, conversational assistance, and itinerary generation, we utilize Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI technologies.

• Data Sharing: When you query the App or generate an itinerary, text inputs and relevant context (such as travel dates and location) are sent to our third-party AI partners, which include OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
• No Training: We have configured our API usage to request that these providers do not use your personal data to train their public models, subject to their respective privacy policies.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following scenarios:

• With Collaborators: When you invite others to join a trip, your itinerary, booked items, and expense inputs are visible to those specific users.
• With AI Providers: As listed in Section 4, text inputs are processed by our AI partners to generate responses.
• With Service Partners: If you select optional services (such as travel insurance or bookings), necessary trip details (e.g., dates, destination) are shared with the provider to facilitate the service.
• Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Plotline Travel, Inc., our users, or others.

6. Your Choices and Controls

• Permissions: You can revoke access to Photos, Location, or Calendar at any time via your device settings. Revoking these may disable specific automation features within the App.
• Account Deletion: You may request to delete your account and associated data within the App settings.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we discover that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information from our servers immediately.

8. International Users

If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located.

9. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy and any disputes related thereto shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
